During this internship, I had the opportunity to discover how an industrial company works on a day-to-day basis. Even though my profile is engineering-oriented, this experience helped me understand the importance of the operator's role in the production line and in the daily running of operations.
The internship had three main objectives:
-
Working on the production line
- Cutting, assembling and packaging products.
- Observing industrial processes and real-time quality checks.
-
Improving administrative efficiency
- Building Excel tools to automate some simple tasks.
- Organising data to make activity tracking easier and support decision-making.
-
Contributing to business development
- Identifying tennis clubs for targeted campaigns.
- Running email campaigns and following up on responses.
- Searching for and analysing suppliers on international platforms (sourcing).
Why an operator internship as an engineer?
Even as an engineer, understanding the operator's role is essential:
- It helps to design systems and tools suited to users' real needs.
- It brings a practical, on-the-ground view, essential for optimising processes.
- It makes communication between technical and operational teams easier, reducing errors and improving overall efficiency.
